Stansell Properties & Development, LLC is a WBE certified general contractor that specializes in commercial construction, primarily restaurant and retail construction. The company was founded by Harold Stansell in 2006 and was purchased by John Stege in 2014.

Keeping the Stansell name was a simple choice due to the already great reputation and name recognition. Since John purchased it, the company has seen tremendous, rapid growth across the Southeast. John and partner Jim Kurtz, who joined Stansell in 2017, expanded the business model by adding JTS Contracting, building up a team of quality people, gaining more national account clients, and expanding their territory. In 2021, Angelica Connor purchased 51% of the company and was named CEO with John remaining as president. With this transition, Stansell became one of the only woman-owned general contractors in Florida. Also, this transition enhanced the culture, created more work opportunities, and emphasized the importance of diversity both within the company and in the workforce.

Stansell has completed projects for many recognizable brands including McDonald’s, Chick-Fil-A, First Watch, Wild Fork Foods, 7-Eleven, Village Medical Center, Dunkin, True Food Kitchen, Taco Bell, Outback Steakhouse, Bonefish Grill, Carrabba’s Italian Grill, Wendy’s, and more. Since 2014, Stansell has maintained licenses necessary in 18 US states: Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, and West Virginia.

Stansell has completed over 1500 projects varying in scope from facilities repairs, interior remodels, restroom remodels, exterior remodels, drive-thru remodels, demolition to rebuild, new ground-up construction, and almost anything in between. We seek to learn our customers’ needs then do everything we can to meet their expectations. We are a customer service company that is good at construction!

At Stansell, we are committed to implementing sustainable practices both in our office and out in the field to ensure that we are doing our part to positively impact the future of our communities, industry, and environment. From energy conservation to waste management, we believe that it is our responsibility to control and minimize the negative effects of construction by following safe and sustainable construction practices. We have acted on our initiatives by becoming a member of the United States Green Building Council and through obtaining LEED Green Associate certifications.

We believe that sustainability starts before a project begins, so we make sure that all aspects of the preconstruction process are set up for a sustainable, safe, and efficient project. This process includes communicating our sustainability standards and encouraging better practices with our client, discussing potential water, stormwater, and weather delays, proposing alternate solutions to potential problems, and we discuss costs and benefits of green building. We continue these conversations into the construction and post construction phase to stay in constant communication with our client to reinforce our commitment to achieving a successful and sustainable project.
